Informative now almost 20 year old Victoria Kasten Tecken presented at a Young Writer's Conference I attended with my daughter (January 2011). We purchased IronHeart and IronSpear novels while at the conference. IronHeart was described as a "non-magical fantasy novel - an epic adventure", not my typical reading, I was hooked immediately. It was hard to put the book down and I had to read it all as quickly as possible so I could start reading IronSpear. She wrote these books when she was 16 & 17. You would never know it. I look forward to reading her previous book series and other books as she writes them, and am happy to recommend this book to everyone I meet. I am happy and inspired to see a young Minnesota author succeed! Congratulations!Product details

I have gone to the Midwest Homeschool Convention and I saw Victoria Kasten there twice. I debated buying the book the first time and held off but decided to try it this year. I bought IronHeart last week and got halfway through and then had to stop. I was very dissapointed to see a 'Christian' author give young girls an example of premarital sex. I am a big advocate of purity before marriage and although they later marry, that does not erase the problem. I am sorry to say that it was a waste of my money and time spent reading and although very well written, the low moral standards turned me off.
